Project details

We supported the presentation of Cheek by Jowl’s Russian-language production of William Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure at Washington D.C’s Kennedy Center in 2018. This was the production’s US premiere, and it went on to perform in New York and Boston, receiving critical acclaim throughout.

“Unsettling poignancy… vivid and uncommonly moving… a strange, ultimately profound beauty.” The New York Times.

“Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod build a whole world out of the human form.” The Washington Post.

“Transfixing, eerily current.” The Boston Globe.
